The Foodservice sector has been heavily hit by staff shortages as a result of COVID. We have more than 50% of our people unable to work due to having COVID or having to isolate as a close contact. Our suppliers are in a similar position, with some having to temporarily cease supply.
This has put enormous pressure on Bob & Pete’s and we are at risk of not providing the quality of product and service that we pride ourselves on, with some orders going out late this week due to labour shortages.
To improve supply, we are being pro-active and aiming to head off what is likely to be an even larger issue over the next couple of weeks as COVID cases grow.
From Monday 10th January our Order cut off time for Next Day Deliveries will go from 4pm to 2pm.
This will go a long way to help us manage supply with a smaller workforce, giving us more time to make fresh product everyday.
Unfortunately we have not ruled out further measures but hope to get through this over the next couple of weeks and are looking to review cut offs after Australia Day.
